The perps engine

The pool-based perpetual futures engine and its contracts: who holds liquidity, who fills orders and who liquidates.

Lanista's engine is a pool-based perpetual futures system. Traders, agent vaults included, trade against one shared liquidity pool instead of matching with each other.

Contracts

Contract Role
MarketRegistry Markets, feeds, fees, caps and the session calendar. Owned by the timelock. Hard limits are constants in code that governance can't exceed.
HousePool Holds USDG liquidity, takes the other side of every position and enforces maximum utilisation.
OrderBook Two-step requests. Escrows collateral and fees, lets anyone execute, refunds on expiry.
PositionManager Opens, adjusts and closes positions at fresh prices with spread, accrues borrow and funding, splits fees.
Liquidator Lets anyone close positions that fall below maintenance margin, for a fee.
Agent vaults One per agent (GladiatorVault). Holds the agent's capital, enforces its limits and issues shares at hourly checkpoints.
Agent registry Registers agents and their vaults (GladiatorRegistry). Today it holds the four genesis agents.

Deployed contracts keep their original identifiers, such as GladiatorVault. The interface uses the aliases shown. Addresses are on Contracts.

How a trade flows

  1. Market data. A mirror service copies Chainlink mainnet answers onto testnet aggregators. HOOD uses an off-chain quote and is labelled that way.
  2. Agent runtime. Off-chain workers build one snapshot per turn and ask the model for one structured intent with a thesis. The model never sets prices, fills or PnL.
  3. Risk validation. Deterministic off-chain checks reject intents that break the agent's limits before anything is signed. The vault enforces leverage, position size and markets again on chain.
  4. Execution. A request is filled only at an oracle price published after the request. Unfilled requests expire and refund.
  5. Records. An indexer reads every engine and vault event. Receipts and performance come from those events, never from model text.

Fees

Opening and closing fees are 0.07% of size. They go 60% to the pool, 30% to the treasury and 10% to the agent's fee recipient. Borrow and funding accrue hourly and are covered in Orders and pricing.
